Static filled the screen momentarily as the video camera was activated. Standing before the camera in the middle of the jungle was Goth, looking irritated and trying to look away from the camera. Like he was trying to ignore it's presence.

"Come on Goth. Let's get this started," came Throbb's voice from behind the camera.

Goth groaned and said, "Do we really have to make a video? Why can't we just Skype her and say it there?"

Throbb laughed and said, "Because it's supposed to be a birthday present and a birthday present needs to be a labor of love. You do love her right?"

Goth turned his head towards the camera and glared at Throbb.

"Of course I love her, what kind of question is that?" he asked angrily.

Throbb laughed a little more and said, "Then stop being so camera shy and start already."

Goth sighed and took a breath to situate himself before clearing his throat.

"Alright alright. Dear Ashley..." he began but then paused.

Throbb rolled his eyes and said, "Come on Goth. Why are you being so nervous anyway? It's just for her."

"But I don't know who else could see this. What if someone else see's this like some of her friends or her family? I don't know how they would react or what would happen afterwards," Goth argued back.

At this point, Throbb groaned as well. He set the camera down and approached Goth. He got really close to Goth and addressed him.

"Look Goth I've seen you handle many things in my life. Mantises, owls, humans, even demons. You've faced them all with little to no fear. A simple birthday greetings video should be no trouble for you. Are you going to be beaten by a quick little video?" Throbb said right to Goth's face.

If looks could kill, Throbb would be six feet under already as Goth glared at at him. He wanted to strangle Throbb so bad right now, but he relented only because his sister would have his head if Goth did anything to him.

Goth finally took a deep breath and was ready to begin once more.

"Okay fine, you win. We'll do this over. Are you happy now?" Goth finally answered.

That was all that Throbb had needed to hear. He walked back to the camera and picked it back up. He refocused the camera on Goth and allowed him to continue. Goth once again cleared his throat and began speaking once more.

"Hey Ashley, it's me, Goth. Throbb suggested to me and I agreed to make this video for you for your birthday. I'm sorry we couldn't be together for it and we all miss you very much down here. We all really hope to see you soon, but we wanted to let you know that you are still in our thoughts and our hearts. Wishing a very happy birthday from all of us. Please be safe and we hope to see you soon," Goth delivered his message as best he could without fidgetting.

That was done and now Goth was happy that he got through it without his stage fright getting the best of him. That is until Throbb reminded him of something else he had promised to do.

"Goth. What about the poem?" Throbb said out loud.

Goth froze as he was about to walk off. That's right, the poem. How could he have forgotten? It was one of the very reasons why he had agreed to do the video in the first place. To recite the poem he had written for her.

"Right the poem. I got it right here," Goth said as he reached for something out of sight.

He pulled up a parchment of paper with something scribbled on one side of it. He held it up to his eyes and began to read aloud.

"Happy birthday Señorita it comes just once a year
And every one means something special my dear
Friends and family come to celebrate your day
Even those who reside far far away
I wish I could be there to see you in person
Without me I feel that the day would worsen
But knowing that you are happy even though I'm not there
Makes me happy since your feelings are all that I care
Maybe next year things will be different for us
I may be there to see you with no fuss
Until then I wish you many more
Feliz cumpleaños mi amor"

Goth finished the poem as a smile crept onto his face.

Throbb couldn't help but laugh at the sight and say, "Goooth. Is that a smile on your face?"

Goth blushed and said, "No no of course not. Well maybe. I'm just relieved that we are done."

Throbb knew Goth better than that, but pretended to accept this answer and he shut off the camera. Later on that night after the video had been sent off, Goth was relaxing under the shade of a large leaf glad to be done. Throbb flew to him and landed right beside him.

"Well the video is on it's way now," Throbb told Goth.

Goth breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Well that's good. As long as you remembered to edit out all the awkward moments then everything is good."

"Uhh... edit?" Throbb stammered.

Goth's eyes went wide and his face turned into a snarl.

"You didn't edit the video? WHY WOULDN'T YOU EDIT THE VIDEO?" Goth growled angrily.

Throbb played with fingers as he sweated and said, "No one told me too?"

This answer didn't please Goth as he roared out in fury. Throbb realizing it was best for him to run, got up and flew off with Goth in hot pursuit. Unbeknownst to Goth, Throbb had indeed edited the video and removed the awkward moments. After all, he's not THAT cruel to Goth. Is he?

Just a little something I thought up earlier this week and decided to write it for :iconnightangelgirl:'s birthday since I know how much she loves Goth.

Happy birthday girl and I hope you enjoy. :)
